College drinking not so harmful (learn to love red wine).

There is an article that i found on the CNN website that interested me due to the fact that i am in college and i drink over five days a week and so i thought to my self what am i doing to my body for the future. in this article it starts off saying that while you are drinking excessively in college your are creating proteins in your heart that will hinder you in the later years of life. the only thing about that is that no one has done a study on the later facts of the protein produced, even though they have done the experiment on the college drinking by studying college students that drink excessively. the other side of this story is that a Dr. Robert Bonow, has thought differently and decided to find out more and in his studies he has found that older people produce those same proteins no matter what in the older ages of life. this statement I'm not going to lie it made me happy thinking that i was not harming my body at all seeing that later on in life i will produce the proteins anyways. anyways doctor found out that a person who drinks moderately throughout their life allows the heart to flush out the protein because the blood is thin and allows it to pass on. the other thing that was said was that a glass of wine a day gain you days of life in the end, and that the best wine is red wine it helps you produce other factors in your body to help you become healthy. so in the end of reading this article thinking that i was going to find out something that would make me realise that i was doing a bad thing drinking, but i found out that i should start drinking red wine. therefor i wont change the way i am right now because for right now i don't need to i am still young but later in life i will consider the term moderation and then i will become healthier.
title of the article is: College Drinking and Health Problems.

Have you read any other articles that argue against drinking and its negative effects on the body? Drinking excessively damages the liver including liver disease. It can also cause heart cancer and high blood pressure. Drinking can also cause problems in your stomach including bleeding and irritation. Studies have also shown that excessive drinking can damage the brain during these years of college because it is still growing, and alcohol interrupts the growing process. Does your study say one glass of wine a day or 8?! Interesting blog, nice job!

Ya I have heard red wine is good for you too also. On the contrary side it would be much better for you just to have a few grapes or some form of antioxidants. The alcohol that is in the wine I thought would hinder protein synthesis overall, due to alcohol dehydration the blood cells and decreasing transportation of nutrients. Interesting thought for the future benefits. Good find Jimbo.

Your blog is very interesting, its funny how there's always a number of different arguments on health issues. In women's health magazine I read that one drink a day (any type of alcohol) serves health benefits, probaby mostly being the portein aspect that you mentioned. However, its obvious that alcohol isn't necessarily good for you, especially in excess. Did you know that of all unhealthy foods, alcohol slows your metabolism down immensley? Nevermind the fact that it never fails to make you hungry. Also another interesting fact, although wine is healthier to drink than beer, wine will always tend to make you the hungriest.
